What if you could build green, optimize schedule, improve quality and save on costs? Would you want to know more? Since the conception of VWCONNECT we have been working to streamline the process of getting utilities to your homes.
Due to some of the lowest levels of air quality in the country, (the Greater Phoenix Area), we were forced to create or adopt a program in the construction industry to eliminate the use of gas powered generators. In 2005 the Governor signed a bill that would address the Brown Cloud here in the Valley. Phoenix did not have a program in place to address the brown cloud, hence, a committee was organized to design and craft a resolution. VWCONNECT became a key member for this committee in the design and research process. We were shocked to learn that Phoenix would be the last of major cities to still be in the practice of building homes using this antiquated method. Through our efforts as a committee, we developed what is known today as, Early Power. For the past 10 years our team has worked daily with Municipalities and Builders to ensure that we are compliant to the bill that was passed. Early power provides a convenient, clean, reliable, quiet power source available to all trades and builders while improving the construction process through a myriad of efficiencies. The program eliminates noise, air pollution, and site traffic caused by gas powered generators, compressors and trailers.
Early power eliminates conflicts/breakdowns with the other trades by installing the panel first. It increases scheduling efficiency by eliminating dry-runs. Reduces move-in delays by identifying any blocked conduit, missing mule tape, etc. early in the process. Enables electricians to perform hot checks and HVAC to perform start ups, eliminating a trip back to the house. Power and gas companies will never be the cause of a closing to be pushed back.
Improves lighting conditions for increased quality and workmanship during the construction and inspection process. The program helps minimize sink holes, go-backs and job site traffic by completing all underground scopes before the job site becomes cluttered with construction materials.
Combine multiple scopes so that a single call achieves panel installation, grounding, utility trench, soils & line pull. This streamlines construction costs and eliminates trade scheduling conflicts and associated return trip costs. Our full turn key process eliminates costs and delays associated with cross lot bores, concrete and water line damage and hand digging when everything goes in all at once at the front of the schedule.
SET CONCRETE FORMS. INSTALL ELECTRICAL PANEl. REQUEST ELECTRIC POWER INSPECTION IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE PRE-SLAB OR SOILS INSPECTION.
DIG UTILITY TRENCH. INSTALL ELECTRIC, PHONE, CABLE AND GAS CONDUITS. UTILITY COMPANY OR VWDIG WILL PULL LINES FOR POWER. POWER COMPANIES WILL SET METER WITHIN 3 BUSINESS DAYS. BUILDER LOCKS PANEL AND LABELS AS ENERGIZED
IN 2017 VWCONNECT STARTED INSTALLING GAS SERVICES IN RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITIES. WHEN PAIRED WITH THE INSTALLATION OF THE POWER AND COMMUNICATION, THE BUILD TIME OF THE HOUSE IS DECREASED, AND CONFLICTS ARE ELIMINATED.
CREW CLOSES LOT OUT ON TABLET. TRIGGERING OUR LINE CREWS TO BE SCHEDULED FOR NEXT DAY. VWCONNECT PULLS LINES IN ASSIGNED APS TERRITORY.
WORKING WITH BUILDERS AND UTILITY COMPANIES VW CONNECT OFFERS TURNKEY INSTALLATION OF DRY UTILITIES FROM THE DEVELOPMENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FINISHED HOME.
Plexus is VWCONNECT’s proprietary software platform created for building & managing industrial internet applications. Plexus connects us to our Suppliers, Builders & Utility Companies creating a healthy business ecosystem. Plexus uses big data & analytic’s to drive efficiency and productivity to lower cost & risk while maximizing efficiency and profit for everyone within its network. Applications built within Plexus identify what is and what should be specific to our scope and thus enabling us to optimize our assets and operations to better serve you, our customer.
VWCONNECT crews are equipped with a tablet and connected to our Plexus platform. The purpose of crews being connected to Plexus is to offer real time reporting to all parties mentioned above. Utility companies are notified our scope is complete and ready for line pull and meter set the second we complete the job. Our office, the builder office, their super and our super all receive this same notification. Plexus streamlines communication while lowering the cost related to human error or outdated methods. Plexus encourages efficient construction practices ultimately reducing the time & energy it takes to complete our scope through technology.
SOILS LAID OUT BY PLUMBER. WE COORDINATE WITH THE PLUMBER, DIG THE SOILS, AND EXPOSE THE SEWER TAP.
